Application Any post-secondary student (above 16 years of age) is eligible to apply for accommodation in a VOAS apartment in Vaasa. To apply for an apartment, you need to fill in the “Application Form” link. The applicants are given scores in accordance with VOAS rules determining the need and urgency of the applicant to find accommodation. The scoring is influenced by: - the distance of the applicant’s present apartment from his/her school - the length of time that the applicant has been in queue for the apartment - in the case of families, the number of children You can apply for VOAS apartments any time of the year. The summer season (1 June – 15 September) is, however, intended for the applications of new students. The application period ends on 30 June for those who start their schools in early August. Those who start their schools in late August or early September may submit their applications by 31 July. The applicant is informed about the apartment in writing. If there is no suitable apartment available, the application will be placed in a queue waiting for any vacancies. The application is valid for three months after the date it was submitted to VOAS, and it can always be renewed for a new three-month-period. It is VOAS’s ambition to find an apartment for all new students and applicants as soon as possible. The wishes of the applicants are carefully noted but all types of apartments are not, at all times, vacant and available. After the peak season in the summer and autumn, those who did not receive the desired apartment for their first dwelling may apply for vacancies and, gradually, everyone will get the home of their wishes for their student years in Vaasa.
